Jiiva’s next family drama ‘Thagappan’ officially begins shooting; Rajisha Vijayan stars as the female lead
Actor Jiiva’s upcoming Tamil film ‘Thagappan’ was officially launched with a traditional pooja ceremony held in Madurai on Monday. Backed by Lark Studios, the production house known for delivering acclaimed films like Garudan and Maaman, the film promises to be an emotionally rich family entertainer.
The launch event was attended by the cast, crew, and several prominent personalities from the Tamil film industry, who extended their best wishes to the team as principal photography officially commenced.
National Award-winning actress Rajisha Vijayan has been cast as the female lead opposite Jiiva, marking the first collaboration between the two actors. Their fresh on-screen pairing has already generated considerable excitement among movie lovers.
Following the success of his recent release TTT, Jiiva returns with a character deeply rooted in the culture and lifestyle of Madurai. The film is written and directed by Ra. Venkat, who earned critical acclaim for his previous directorial venture Kida.
Set against the backdrop of Madurai and its surrounding regions, ‘Thagappan’ explores the emotional bond between a father and son while celebrating the strength of family relationships and human values. The makers describe it as a heartfelt drama designed to appeal to audiences across all age groups, from family viewers to young moviegoers.
The film is produced by K. Kumar under the Lark Studios banner. M. Sukumar handles cinematography, while Nagooran Ramachandran serves as the editor. The technical team also includes K.B.
