Asian Future போட்டிப் பிரிவில் தேர்வான சுயாதீனத் தமிழ் திரைப்படம்!
தமிழ் சினிமாவின் சுயாதீன திரைப்படங்களுக்கு சர்வதேச அரங்கில் கிடைக்கும் அங்கீகாரம் தொடர்ந்து அதிகரித்து வரும் நிலையில், புதிய பெருமையைச் சேர்த்திருக்கிறது இயக்குநரும் ஒளிப்பதிவாளருமான செழியன் உருவாக்கியுள்ள ‘காகிதமலர்’ திரைப்படம்.
செழியன் ஒளிப்பதிவு செய்து இயக்கியுள்ள ‘காகிதமலர்’ திரைப்படம், 39வது டோக்கியோ சர்வதேச திரைப்பட விழாவின் ‘Asian Future’ பிரிவில் World Premiere ஆகத் தேர்வாகியுள்ளது. அதுமட்டுமின்றி, போட்டிப் பிரிவிலும் இப்படம் இடம்பெற்றுள்ளது. World Premiere திரையிடலாக இரண்டு காட்சிகள் நடைபெற இருப்பதும் படக்குழுவினருக்கு கூடுதல் மகிழ்ச்சியை ஏற்படுத்தியுள்ளது.
சுயாதீன திரைப்படமாக உருவாகியுள்ள ‘காகிதமலர்’, தற்போது சர்வதேச திரைப்பட விழாவின் முக்கியமான போட்டிப் பிரிவில் தேர்வு செய்யப்பட்டிருப்பது, படக்குழுவினருக்கு மட்டுமின்றி இந்திய மற்றும் தமிழ் திரைப்படத் துறைக்கும் குறிப்பிடத்தக்க தருணமாக அமைந்துள்ளது.
இப்படத்தின் தயாரிப்பாளரான திருமதி பிரேமா செழியன், இந்த சர்வதேச அங்கீகாரத்தைப் பெருமையுடனும் நன்றியுடனும் பகிர்ந்துள்ளார்.
படத்தின் உருவாக்கத்தில் முக்கிய பங்காற்றிய எடிட்டர் ஸ்ரீகர் பிரசாத், இசையமைப்பாளர் தபஸ் நாயக், செழியனின் உதவியாளர்களான மணி, ராஜ்கிரண், ஜோசப் இருதயராஜ், R.P. ராஜா, பேச்சியப்பன் உள்ளிட்ட அனைவருக்கும் தயாரிப்பாளர் தனது நன்றியைத் தெரிவித்துள்ளார்.
மேலும், இப்படத்தின் மூலம் அறிமுகமாகும் நடிகர் பராந்தகச் சோழன், நடிகை ஜனனி செண்பகா ஆகியோருக்கும் அவர் தனது அன்பையும் நன்றியையும் தெரிவித்துள்ளார்.
திரைப்படத்தை டோக்கியோ சர்வதேச திரைப்பட விழாவிற்கு அனுப்புவதற்கான பணிகளில் பலரும் வழங்கிய ஒத்துழைப்பையும் பிரேமா செழியன் குறிப்பிட்டுள்ளார். குறிப்பாக, தனது பிஸியான பணிகளுக்கு மத்தியிலும் தேவையான உதவிகளைச் செய்த எடிட்டர் ஸ்ரீகர் பிரசாத், கோப்புகள் தொடர்பாக எப்போது தொடர்புகொண்டாலும் உடனடியாக உதவிய இசையமைப்பாளர் தபஸ் நாயக் ஆகியோருக்கு அவர் நன்றி தெரிவித்துள்ளார்.
அதேபோல், D Studio சார்பில் A.L. விஜய் வழங்கிய பங்களிப்பு, திரைப்படத்தைத் தபால் மூலம் அனுப்புவதற்கான பணிகளில் உதவிய இயக்குநர் லீனா மணிமேகலை ஆகியோருக்கும் தனது மனமார்ந்த நன்றியைத் தெரிவித்துள்ளார்.
எடிட்டர் ஸ்ரீகர் பிரசாத் அவர்களின் உதவியாளர்களான சங்கத் தமிழன், ராதாகிருஷ்ணன், D Studio கலரிஸ்ட் ராஜசேகர், மேனேஜர் சரவணன், தேவையான தகவல்களையும் கோப்புகளையும் தொடர்ந்து தயார் செய்து வழங்கிய கிருஷ்ணசுவாமி ஆகியோரின் பங்களிப்பையும் அவர் நன்றியுடன் நினைவுகூர்ந்துள்ளார்.
‘காகிதமலர்’ திரைப்படத்தின் உருவாக்கப் பயணத்தில் தனக்கு பெருமை அளிக்கும் மற்றொரு முக்கியமான நபராக தனது ஆசானும் புகழ்பெற்ற ஒளிப்பதிவாளருமான P.C. ஸ்ரீராம் அவர்களையும் பிரேமா செழியன் குறிப்பிட்டுள்ளார். “என் அன்பான, திறமையான மாணவன் செழியன்” என்று எப்போதும் பெருமைப்படும் தனது ஆசானுக்கு அவர் மனமார்ந்த நன்றியைத் தெரிவித்துள்ளார்.

Cezhiyan’s Independent Film to Compete in the Asian Future Section
Tamil cinema has added another significant achievement to its growing presence on the international film festival circuit, with independent filmmaker and cinematographer Cezhiyan’s ‘Kaagidhamalar’ being selected for the 39th Tokyo International Film Festival.
The film, which has been cinematographed and directed by Cezhiyan, has been selected for a World Premiere in the ‘Asian Future’ section of the prestigious festival. The film will have two World Premiere screenings and will also compete in the competition section.
The selection of an independent Indian film in an international competition section is a moment of pride for both the Indian and Tamil film industries, while marking an important milestone in the journey of ‘Kaagidhamalar’.
Producer Mrs. Prema Cezhiyan has expressed her happiness and gratitude over the film’s selection, acknowledging the efforts and support of everyone who contributed to bringing the project to the international stage.
She expressed her heartfelt gratitude to acclaimed editor Sreekar Prasad, music composer Tapas Nayak, and Cezhiyan’s assistants Mani, Rajkiran, Joseph Irudayaraj, R.P. Raja and Pechiyappan. She also thanked debut actors Paranthaka Chozhan and Janani Senbaga for being part of the film.
Prema Cezhiyan also acknowledged the extensive support received during the process of submitting the film to the festival. Despite his busy schedule, editor Sreekar Prasad extended his assistance whenever required. Music composer Tapas Nayak also provided prompt support whenever files and other materials were needed.
She further thanked A.L. Vijay of D Studio for his contribution, and filmmaker Leena Manimekalai for extending her support with the postal submission and other related requirements.
The producer also expressed her gratitude to Sreekar Prasad’s assistants Sangath Thamizhan and Radhakrishnan, D Studio colourist Rajasekar, manager Saravanan, and Krishnaswamy, who consistently helped complete and submit the required files and information.
A special note of gratitude was also reserved for acclaimed cinematographer P.C. Sreeram, Cezhiyan’s mentor, who has always taken pride in describing Cezhiyan as his loving and talented student.
With its selection for the Asian Future section and World Premiere at the 39th Tokyo International Film Festival, ‘Kaagidhamalar’ now takes an important step onto the global stage. The film’s journey from an independent production to an international competition platform marks a significant moment for its entire team and for Tamil independent cinema.
