திரைப்படங்களில் கதையின் முக்கியத்துவத்தை வலியுறுத்திய அவர், “நான் ஏற்கனவே நயன்தாராவுடன் நடித்துவிட்டேன். இனி யாருடன் நடிக்க வேண்டும் என்ற ஆசையோ கவலையோ இல்லை. எந்த கதாநாயகியுடன் நடிக்கிறேன் என்பது முக்கியமல்ல. நல்ல கதை இருந்தால் அதுவே எனக்கு முக்கியம்,” என்று கூறினார்.

சினிமா வாழ்க்கையின் ஆரம்ப காலங்களை நினைவுகூர்ந்த அவர், “வெளியூரிலிருந்து வருபவர்களுக்குத்தான் சினிமா கஷ்டம் என்று சொல்வது தவறு. சென்னையில் பிறந்த எங்களுக்கும் அதே அளவுக்கு போராட்டம் இருந்தது. கடந்த 24 ஆண்டுகளாக அதை நான் அனுபவித்து இருக்கிறேன். தொலைக்காட்சி நிகழ்ச்சிகள், லொள்ளு சபா, ஆர்ட் டைரக்டர் உதவியாளர் என பல வேலைகளை செய்து தான் இன்று இந்த நிலைக்கு வந்திருக்கிறேன்,” என்று தனது பயணத்தை பகிர்ந்தார்.
புதிய இயக்குநர்களுக்கு வாய்ப்பு உறுதி
இயக்குநர் ராஜ்மோகனுடனான நட்பை நினைவுகூர்ந்த யோகி பாபு, “ஒரு கட்டத்தில் ராஜ்மோகன் காணாமல் போனார். மூன்று ஆண்டுகளுக்கு முன்பு அவரை நானே தொடர்பு கொண்டு, ‘வா… படம் பண்ணலாம்’ என்று அழைத்தேன். அதிலிருந்து தான் இந்தப் படம் உருவானது. இதுபோல் நல்ல கதையுடன் வரும் உதவி இயக்குநர்களுக்கும் புதிய இயக்குநர்களுக்கும் வாய்ப்பு கொடுக்க நான் எப்போதும் தயாராக இருக்கிறேன்,” என்று உறுதியளித்தார்.
