பழங்குடியின மக்கள் வசிக்கும் கிராமத்தைச் சேர்ந்த சிறுவன் பரமுவைச் சுற்றியே ‘யானைமரம்’ திரைப்படத்தின் கதை நகர்கிறது. தனக்குச் சேர வேண்டிய வெறும் ஐந்து ரூபாய் பணத்திற்காகவே தனது உரிமையை நிலைநாட்ட போராடும் பரமு, அந்தப் போராட்டத்தின் வழியாக சமூகத்தில் தனக்கான இடத்தையும் உரிமையையும் தேடுகிறான்.
இதனிடையே, சிறுவயதில் தான் நட்ட மா விதை, காலப்போக்கில் வித்தியாசமான வடிவில் யானையைப் போன்று வளர்ந்து நிற்பதைப் பார்த்து பரமு ஆச்சரியமடைகிறான். அந்த மரத்தையே தனது நண்பனாக எண்ணி, தனது மகிழ்ச்சியையும் துயரத்தையும் அதனிடம் பகிர்ந்து கொள்கிறான்.

“A Story That Begins with a Fight for Five Rupees…” – Pa. Ranjith Praises ‘Yanaimaram’

Director Pa. Ranjith has appreciated Yanaimaram, an upcoming Tamil film written and directed by Ramaiah Ravichandran, after watching its trailer. The filmmaker also unveiled the First Look poster of the film at the sets of his upcoming project Sarpatta Parambarai Round 2.
Actors Jailer Seenu, John Kokken, Harish Uthaman, K. Prabhakaran, and director Ramaiah Ravichandran were present during the occasion.
A Five-Rupee Fight for Rights
Set against the backdrop of a village inhabited by tribal communities, Yanaimaram revolves around a young boy named Paramu, whose seemingly simple demand for the five rupees owed to him becomes a fight for his rightful place and dignity in society.
The story takes an intriguing turn when Paramu discovers that the mango seed he planted as a child has grown into a tree that resembles an elephant. He begins to consider the tree his closest friend, sharing his happiness, sadness, dreams and struggles with it.
The film explores whether Paramu succeeds in obtaining the rights he deserves and what ultimately happens to the unique bond between the boy and the ‘Yanaimaram’.
A Film for School Students
Blending a child’s innocent world with themes of social rights, nature and friendship, Yanaimaram has been crafted as a film that particularly deserves to be watched by school students.
Master Abinesh, Jothi Kannan, Sembuli Jegan, Jailer Seenu, Rani, Manju and Leela are part of the cast and bring the characters of the story to life.

The film has already earned 20 international awards and has been screened at 16 locations across different countries, receiving appreciation from audiences and film enthusiasts.
